A feminist reimagining of Euripides' The Trojan Women, written and directed by Theresa Marie Ohanian.
Mason School of Theater and Mason Arts Amplified present the digital recording of the in-person performance of "fallen,” which will be performed in front of a live audience at the Center for the Arts from November 16 to 19, 2023.
Based on Euripides' The Trojan Women, “fallen” is a new play by Theresa Marie Ohanian. This poetic, poignant show is a feminist reimagining of the original Greek text set in a fast-paced, absurdist, post- war setting. The surviving Women of Troy are on sale to the highest bidder. As they are forced to perform to raise their worth, the Women revolt. Dark and haunting, this twist on the classic is plucked from history and thrown into the survivor stories of today.
This pay-to-view limited release will be available to watch from January 25, 2024 through February 29, 2024 at noon ET.
Users who pre-order the video will be emailed when the performance is available to watch beginning January 25, 2024. Access to the video will be removed from all users’ accounts on February 29, 2024 at noon ET.
